A Quick Note

One of the newborn calves wandering through the pastures near my school - a sure sign of spring.

Just got a lift to the school from the sweetest Australian tourist on one of the most gorgeous days we’ve had here in Ballyvaughan. “No drama,” she said as I thanked her and got out of the car. That remark struck me odd and somehow managed to get me out of my cluttered head space for a second, and made me realize how wonderful it is to be here and to be doing what I’m doing. Funny how little things like that can pull you out of your own muddled thoughts and completely turn your day around.

Side note:
We’re nearly done with the semester here, and I realize I have only one blog post to show for it. I will be posting more on my travels and studio work in my next few updates. My time here just seems to have flown by.

Like she said, though, no drama.

Brian, thanks so much for shanrig your comment. I’ve been to the Burren a dozen times or so and still feel something new or the same thing in a different way every time I go. What I know about the Burren wouldn’t fit into a thimble compared to some of the farmers who actually live in the region. This year, I’m going to try and get one of them to help with guiding us through. The Burren is one of the most enchanting places I’ve ever been.
