Chautauqua Dogs

spending quality time with the canines of Chautauqua, NY

“Chautauqua Dogs” was conceived during my two-month stay at Chautauqua Institute’s incredible School of Art Program in Chautauqua, New York. As a “dog person” spending the summer in an incredibly canine-friendly community, it didn’t take me long to recognize the incredible opportunity that Chautauqua had to offer. Charmed by the openness of the residents, and inspired by my previous work with strangers in “Coffee Talk”, I approached these fourteen dog owners on their porches, and was welcomed to share my afternoon with these wonderful people and their dogs. I would like to extend a special thank you to all of those who participated and opened your homes (and your dogs) to me.
